Project Hope Exchange

What is it?

Project Hope Exchange What is it? Give hope. Get hope. All in 30 seconds! What if we could do just that and start spreading hope around the world? We at The Adversity 2 Advocacy Alliance and Life Vest Inside believe we CAN, and we’re thrilled to be partnering to offer you this unique and powerful opportunity. Through Project Hope Exchange, we are collecting, aggregating and sharing 30-second audio messages from individuals who have survived some kind of adversity to others who are currently facing that same adversity. And at the heart of our exchange are real human voices. We hope you’ll add yours!

Need Hope?

Find it here

It’s a scientific fact: we humans are wired for hope--literally! In fact, neuroscientists have a name for this phenomenon--”the optimism bias”--and they say it’s critical for our survival. But if being hopeful is our natural state, then losing hope is far more detrimental than most of us realize. It can hurt not only our emotional well-being, but also our physical health, especially when we’re in the throes of adversity.

Fortunately, when it comes to hope, what is lost can be found; and if you’re looking for some, you’ve come to the right place!

Why Give Hope?

Because You CAN!

Ralph Waldo Emerson may have said it best:"It is one of the beautiful compensations of life that no man can sincerely help another”Emerson knew in his heart nearly 200 years ago we now know to be scientific fact. The evidence is clear: we really do help ourselves by helping others. We really do get hope by giving hope.

Give hope and the world begins looking like a much more hopeful place. Don’t take our word for it. Give it a try and see for yourself!

Message of the Month

Jessica // Heart Attack

"My name is Jessica and I survived a massive heart attack at age 16, a heart transplant, a leg amputation and two bouts of cancer. Instead of seeing what happened to me as a tragedy, I realized how lucky I was to survive against all odds. And it made me want to do as much with my life as I possibly could. Life is not about what happens to you—it’s what you do with what happens to you that makes the difference. Never give up hope."
